The Beauty of Africa*

'Jambo' everybody!! That's Swahili for " Hello". I hope you are all doing well!

Let's talk about Africa! I think there is a lot of ignorance about what Africa is like and how the people are. So, this blog is going to attempt to bring to light the true Africa that you do not see on American Television.

Now, I was not born in Africa BUT my parents were and I still do consider myself African because to be honest, that is the first thing I am identified as where I live. So, on that note feel free to scroll down and explore the content of this blog!
Stay Blessed!

P.S- all photo's that have been posted (unless specified otherwise,)are not my personal photos. I got those photos from google searches for the most part- Alright!! Enjoy!!

So now that you have been entertained for a little bit- how about we learn a little bit about true African history. Before you go on, you need to understand that Africa and Africans have a history before European contact- and that History is what people need to be educated about. The following video is going to give you a little bit more of an understanding about African History-( this video explains just a small fragment of African History pre- European contact) Let's proceed.

Very eye opening right? Well, I hope that after watching the videos above, your perception of Africa has been ,if not completely, slightly altered.

In my life, for me I never knew that Africa had any history or anything  really prior to European contact because the schools do not teach that and so I just thought Africa was just there really. My eyes were opened when I went to back to Ghana when I was about 13and realized that they are not all living like what I see on television (in fact there are some really big houses in Ghana).
So if you are here and you are skeptical about some of what you have heard, I suggest that you do your own research and see for yourself. And even if you do beleive  what you have just seen, continue to do research because you should always seek to know things for yourself.

I suggest you read books and watch documentaries ( done by those who specialise in research of Ancient-African civilizations). I guarantee that what you will discover will blow your minds!

On a lighter note , I really love African art, culture, people and fashion ( although I will create a completely seperate page on just that) so for the last portion of this blog I wll be presenting to you a few picture that I have found online as well as some of my own meant to how the beauty of Africa and the Culture!

I LOVE MY AFRICA

The Next Set Of Photos Are Just Pictures That Have Caught My Eyes

An African Beauty Called Ewuraba.

The brow of your eyes,
The little pout on your red lips,
The curve on your hips,
The bulb I see on your behind
Are what keep me mesmerized,
Ewuraba

Ewuraba,
Your melodious voice
Melts my heart
Like Shea-butter
In the African sun.
I wonder the sounds it would make
In my ears when I caress you
And gradually cross the Rubicon.

Even when I close my eyes
I can visualize
You and I strolling inside
The chilly blue skies
And a heaven it will epitomize.

I feel so dumfounded
By the feelings I have within.
If I were a musician,
I would sing it out.
If I were the weather
I would rain it down.
If I were a rich man
My money would sensitize
What I would want to say
But I can only write it down
As a poet
And flaunt it with imageries now,

 Is it true
Immoral,
As people say, you are.
Or they only take their premises
From the dressing.
You emulated from the foreign movies
Then it remains falling
On my deaf ears
Till the years ahead.

 Ewuraba,
If any of my three dreams—
Of money,
Of love,
And of fame—
Should chronologically come true,
Then it should first be you.
I know with you,
Everything would come to me
Gradually.

Ewuraba,
My heart’s desire,
You are my life’s fire
I promise to let you and I
Remain as the Hindi corpse and a pyre
Or the orphan and God’s grace
Or as the athlete and the race.
If that is not enough,
I will always make you laugh.
For now, it is my best, I try
So that in the end I will not cry.
